Travelling through Cornwall

I’m on a train – Penzance to Paddington – going up the line for Xmas week. It’s a beautifully cold December day.  The light is golden across the Cornish landscape.  The rest of the country is in turmoil because of the freezing temperature but Cornwall seems to have escaped the worst of it.  The wind and rain has been relentless this year so its about time we have a bit of good weather!

This amazing light which I’m looking at as it bathes the fields and defines the long, dark branches on the trees is just gorgeous.  It reminds me of the early days of moving image when things took a turn from black & white to magnificent colour.  The feeling is magical.
