Visit to Scilly

Isles of Scilly

Yesterday was a very cold February morning and my first time to use the Isles of Scilly Skybus (http://www.ios-travel.co.uk/).  After 15 mins of being 1000ft up and 28 miles across I arrived on St. Mary’s to visit the Five Islands School and IOS Museum.

Leaving St. Mary's IOS

We’re planning an exchange with Five Islands School and Penwith College Media students.  Using archive film, students will make shorts  which will form part of the Tre Project film programme to be toured next year.  Thanks to Bryce Wilby and Julie Hicks for their hospitality – I think its going to be a great project.  Fab school!

I also visited the IOS Museum – what a brilliant treasure trove. I love those old fashioned museum’s – not a computer or interactive display in sight but how I love the simplicity of seeing amazing ancient objects found on the islands letting your imagination take you to another world…the Museum holds a film archive and I’m looking forward to taking a look soon. www.iosmuseum.org/
